Cassette Blackout Blinds
For rooms where a standard blackout roller blind simply isn't enough, our cassette blackout systems provide exceptional room-darkening performance by significantly reducing the light that would normally enter around the edges of the blind.
They're particularly popular for bedrooms, nurseries, shift workers and media rooms, as well as specialist commercial environments where a high level of light control is required.
How Do They Work?
Unlike a conventional roller blind, where small gaps are normally present around the fabric, a cassette blackout blind incorporates a headbox and specialist side channels.
The fabric travels within these channels, helping to seal the edges of the blind and dramatically reduce unwanted light entering around the sides.
This makes them an excellent choice where maximum light reduction, privacy or glare control is required.
Fabrics & Finishes
Choose from a wide selection of blackout fabrics, colours and finishes, including practical PVC options and selected children's designs for bedrooms and nurseries.
The cassette, side channels and components are designed to create a neat, integrated appearance around the window, with a choice of finishes available depending on the system specified.
Manual & Motorised Operation
Depending on the size and specification, cassette blackout blinds can be supplied with a choice of operating systems.
Smaller blinds can be available with a simple handle-operated system, allowing the blind to be positioned by moving the bottom bar.
For larger blinds and installations where convenience is important, chain-operated and fully motorised options are available.
Motorised systems can be specified with battery or mains power, with control options including handheld remotes and wireless wall switches. Compatible systems can also offer app control and smart-home integration.
More Than Just Bedrooms
While they're an excellent solution for sleeping environments, cassette blackout blinds can also be particularly effective in TV and cinema rooms, where controlling unwanted daylight and screen glare can make a significant difference.
They can also be installed behind another decorative window treatment, allowing a Roman blind, curtain or other blind to provide the desired interior appearance while the cassette system provides the specialist room-darkening performance.
