Blackout & Dimout Fabrics

Roof windows are frequently installed in bedrooms, loft conversions and home offices where effective light control can make a significant difference.

For bedrooms, blackout fabrics combined with a cassette and side-guide system provide excellent room-darkening performance by significantly reducing the light that would normally enter around the edges of a conventional blind.

Dimout fabrics are also available where softer light control is preferred.

Choose from a wide selection of colours, textures and contemporary fabrics, with frame and hardware finishes available to complement the surrounding window.

Manual Operation

For roof windows that are comfortably within reach, blinds can be operated simply by hand using the bottom rail.

For higher or more difficult-to-reach windows, selected systems can be operated using an extension control pole, providing a straightforward manual solution without the need for electrical power.

Motorised & Solar-Rechargeable Roof Window Blinds

For difficult-to-reach roof windows, motorisation provides an exceptionally convenient solution.

Depending on the window and blind system, we can offer solar-rechargeable, battery and mains-powered motorisation.

Solar-rechargeable systems are particularly well suited to roof windows, using a discreet solar panel to maintain the blind's rechargeable battery without requiring a permanent mains supply at the window.

Control options can include:

This makes motorisation particularly useful for high-level roof windows, vaulted ceilings and rooms containing multiple skylights.

Every installation is individually specified around the manufacturer, model, size and position of the roof window.

Where possible, we'll identify the correct system from the window identification plate or code. For non-standard windows, we'll assess the opening and recommend an appropriate made-to-measure solution.

Where you have conventional roller blinds elsewhere in the room, we can also help coordinate colours and fabrics to create a consistent finish throughout the space.
